A new 80,000-gallon swimming pool and 30-foot-long waterslide is now available for guest use at the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park location in Asheboro, North Carolina.
“We are thrilled to have our new pool and waterslide completed,” said Jane Emirbayer, who co-owns and operates the campground with her husband, Kent.
The pool and waterslide area were designed to look like a hidden mountain paradise. “The pool is surrounded by pine trees and boulders and there is a waterfall that pours into it,” Emirbayer said.
The Emirbayers have expanded their campground to include 40 campsites including tent sites with 50-amp electrical service as well as eight furnished cabins from Alabama Custom Cabins.
Jellystone Park locations are famous for their family friendly activities, family activities, theme weekends, and Yogi Bear characters. Activities at the Asheboro location include arts and crafts projects, scavenger hunts, teen nighttime glow games and competitions, hayrides, bubble foam machine activities, face painting and air brush tattoos as well as plentiful interactions with Yogi Bear.
The Asheboro location offers theme weeks and weekends, including an All Star Sports Week Aug. 22-28 with football, tetherball, gaga ball, volleyball, basketball, soccer and carpetball competitions.
The campground will also have three consecutive Halloween-theme weekends during the last three weekends of October with carnival games, a pumpkin hunt, a costume parade, a not-so-scary hayride, and a dance party on Saturday night.
Families that stay at the Jellystone Park in Asheboro also receive one free pass to the North Carolina Zoo, the world’s largest zoo, which is located just three miles from the campground.
