JELLYSTONE PARK IN CALEDONIA, WISCONSIN TO COMPLETE FIRST PHASE OF EXPANSION BY LATE JUNE

The Jellystone Park location in Caledonia is preparing for the upcoming summer camping season with 50 new glamping cabins, 103 new RV sites, a brand new swimming pond, a floating obstacle course, and many other improvements.

We expect to have everything ready by late June, said Bridget Bender, a co-owner of the park, which will reopen for the 2019 season on May 3.

The expansion will include 31 new full hook up seasonal sites, 33 full hook up pull through sites, 38 full hookup back in sites, and 50 glamping cabins.

Standard glamping cabins sleep seven and include a living room and a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, an oven and range, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, a TV, and a bathroom with a shower over the tub. The loft cabins have the same amenities but sleep six.

A new five-acre swimming pond is also being added with a sandy beach and a Wibit floating obstacle course, which is expected to be ready for guest use by early June. The Wibit, which is anticipated to be the largest in the Jellystone Park franchise network, will take up close to an acre of water space and will be able to support 180 people at once.

Other park improvements include a sand volleyball court, a playground, rental pavilions, cabana rentals, and a new multipurpose building that will include a banquet hall, showers and changing rooms, laundry facilities, a snack bar and a camp store.

Jellystone Park locations, of course, are famous for their organized family activities and theme weekends with Yogi Bear, which help families create unique memories. Other amenities and activities at the Jellystone Park in Caledonia include a pool, water slides, a jumping pillow, mini golf, pedal carts, arts and crafts projects, and plentiful interactions with Yogi Bear, Boo Boo Bear, and Cindy Bear.

Upcoming theme weekends include an Easter Speegtacular/Heroes Weekend May 3-5 with Easter egg dying, bunny races, egg hunts and crafts and discounts for military, police, fire and emergency services personnel; an Amazing Family Challenge Weekend May 17-19 with a variety of physical and mental challenges for groups and families; a Down on the Farm Weekend June 14-16 with pig races with pig toys, horse races with adults riding stick ponies, barn animal crafts, animal trivia and live animals; while festivities for the July 4-7 Independence Day weekend include a patriotic parade and a Presidential Hair Contest.

Park amenities also include Water Wars water balloon games and a water play park with sprayers and a giant picnic basket that fills up with water every few minutes and dumps water on whomever is standing near it.

The Jellystone Park in Caledonia is one of the oldest campgrounds in the Jellystone Park franchise network, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The Caledonia campground first opened 47 years ago in 1972 and joined the Jellystone Park network the same year. The current owners acquired the park in 2005.
